Scene: Spider-Man humiliated his long-time bully in a fight and consequentially has been sentenced to community service. Afterwards in the hallway, a tense and embarrassing conversation with his Uncle follows, which is witnessed by his school crush. After securing a date with her he goes to an empty warehouse to skate and use his newfound powers.
After a long hiatus, I am back with what started the blog, a Spider-Man clip. This time from the Andrew Garfield led The Amazing Spider-Man. My reaction to this clip was similar to the first, and since it was not based in regional music elitism, this time my reaction was shared by my fellow viewing partner. I thought after the conversation between Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) and Spider-Man it could not get any more awkward, but then to my dismay and disbelief they have Spider-Man skateboarding and flexing his powers, in what should be a bad-ass scene, to Coldplay. Need I say more? I don't need to, but I will. I replaced an excruciatingly bland and boring song with another one way more energetic and brash. Something a teen superhero, whose fired up because he just recently got, his powers, in trouble at school as well as at home, and a date with his crush, would listen too.
